Jade plant & Fr. MartinMount Saviour Monastery

February 2007
News:
We witnessed a rare phenomenon in our cold library area.  An old jade plant (rubber plant) that was left in the Hofbauer house when we bought the property in 1951, blossomed and showed large clusters of flowers.  For many of us, it is a symbol of hope that good things can happen in our aging years when least expected.  Outside, the cold weather was obvious and we are grateful to the donors who helped pay the oil truck to refill our tanks at a cost of $10,500.  We were spared with only one foot and a half of snow while others had twelve feet in New York state.
