News:
Because of the Pandemic and other unforeseen delays, the work on
the restoration of the Triptych that has hung for many years behind the
Tabernacle in the Crypt is just now going forward. The three panels were
a gift acquired in 1952 and loaned to the local art museum until our chapel
could be built. The work of art has been at the conservators since autumn
of 2019. Once they begin work on the first panel, they should be able to
provide us with an estimate of how long the restoration will take.
On the 6th we received word that Oblate Novice Bruce 'Pete' Crew
had died. Oblate Eleanor Lesser and Joan Pape, the youngest and last sister
of Brother Luke Pape also died this month. Please remember them and their
families in prayer.
Our aging fleet of cars, both with 130,000 plus miles on them, prompted
us to purchase a newer vehicle. The Corolla hybrid will be our first experience
with the new and supposedly more environmentally friendly technology. The
owner's manual, coming in at over 500 pages in length, can be downloaded
from the Internet. Brother Pierre has been busy deciphering its mysteries.
A
benefactor who knows an iconographer in the Ukraine commissioned Icons
of the Visitation and Pentecost for Mount Saviour. They arrived within
the last month and will be venerated in the chapel during their particular
Liturgical celebrations.
