Mount Saviour Monastery (March 2013)
Mount Saviour Monastery
March 2013
News:
The community went to Grace Episcopal Church in Elmira NY to sing Vespers
and Compline and share a meal with the congregation. It is an ecumenical
tradition that we have shared for many years. On the 13th, Prior
Joseph Gabriel and Br. Gabriel went to New York City for the Oblate meeting
and to visit a long time friend, Elizabeth Fuller who could reminisce on
the early years of Mount Saviour Monastery. We were able to witness
the presentation of the new Pope and some of his activities that followed
his election. Fr. Bernard from Christ in the Desert arrived to spend
a couple months with us. We celebrated the solemnity of St. Joseph
and of St. Benedict before the services of Holy Week. The Easter
celebration is always a memorable occasion to express our faith with many
friends who come from far away, every year.
