Transfiguration:
Our patronal feast on Aug. 6th,
marks the end of the summer program. We have an outdoor picnic with
all our guests in the rose garden. The liturgy is always the highlight
of the day as we remember the manifestation of the Lord, the Saviour on
the Mount.
Dedication
Day:
On Sunday, August 15, a large crowd
came for mass and enjoyed the delicious brunch. It is a day of thanksgiving
for the support of our friends and benefactors. Many friends who
used to help for the Fall Festival of yesteryears come for the occasion
to reminisce the old customs. Some friends came from as far as New
Jersey, New York City and Buffalo. Claire Smock and Daniel
Paul, played individual pieces and some for 2 pianos. Mrs.
Pat Ciccariello, studying piano with Claire, accepted to play for us.
The large crowd was well served with a nice selection of classic and popular
music.
Predators:
Our fields are visited by wild animals who feast on our lambs.
Lately, they only attack one or two sheep a week and bite their throats;
they don't bother to eat them. Also since the the drought of our
area persists, Br. Bruno decided to send the lambs to the auction before
more are lost. The condition of the fields would make it difficult
to fatten them up. Therefore a limited number of market lambs
will be available this year.
