During an intense thunder storm, lightning delivered a direct strike to two pine trees on the chapel lawn. Those damaged trees and several others that were dead or dying were taken down at the end of the month. The result is a changed but safer landscape.
Our Dedication Day on the 13th went smoothly with about 60 people partaking in the brunch after Sunday mass. The event was the first large scale gathering since before the pandemic and many were very appreciative of the events’ revival.
Brother Gregory was received as a Postulant after Vespers on the 18th. He comes to us from the Big Island of Hawaii.
The 2023 version of The Chronicle was delivered to the printers on the 21st. It is dated for Autumn which should be the time it arrives in mailboxes. The Oriens Artist Group also arrived that day to begin their time of retreat with us until the 27th.
On the 26th Brother Antonio was hospitalized with a brain hemorrhage
and administered the Sacrament of Anointing of the Sick. On the 28th he
was put on palliative care. He died peacefully on the 30th . Additional
