Mount Saviour Monastery

April 2014
News:
The second half of April was full of activities.  Br. Michael O'Connor made his simple profession on April 15th.  The lambing season began during Holy Week.  The services were well attended and the Easter Vigil began at 4:30 a.m. followed by a brunch.  The main meal on Easter Sunday is shared with all the guests.  On April 26th, Abbot Jerome Kodell arrived and met the community and, on Sunday, he gave a lively presentation on Lectio Divina for the annual Damasus Winzen Lecture. His talk can be heard on You Tube.
The rough winter was difficult for the sheep and it seems that the gestation was longer and the fertility was not as good as in previous years.  By the end of the month, we could see 150 lambs in the field and many ewes waiting "to perform".
