Mount Saviour Monastery

News:
We began the month with the Palm Sunday procession; we begin the ceremony in the crypt and move upstairs around the chapel and proceed with the Mass.  The Easter triduum attracts many people who fill our guest facilities.  Father Patrick Mundy and two Vietnamese Cistercian monks assisted Fr. James for the elaborate ceremonies.  Our first lambs of the season arrived on April 14th and by the end of the month, we counted 200 lambs from 110 ewes.  We were blessed with favorable weather and healthy animals.  On April 18th, Abbot Philip and Fr. Joseph Gabriel from Christ in the Desert came for a visit and discuss how we can benefit from their help for the growth of our monastery.  On April 21, Br. Dominic Savio, a Vietnamese Cistercian from Vietnam arrived for his extended stay with us.  He was accompanied by some of his confreres who are in residence or studying in the USA.  A few days later, an unexpected snowfall (4 inches) caused a power outage for 18 hours at the monastery and around the area.
