Mount Saviour Monastery

March 2011
Mount Saviour Monastery (Winter)
News:
Most of our snow came in March.  We were spared most of the winter while the east coast was badly affected.  On Shrove Tuesday, we celebrated the 87th birthday of Fr. Martin, even though the actual date was the next day, Ash Wednesday.  On March 17th, we celebrated Fr. Patrick Mundy' patronal feast.  He is very helpful with the pastoral care of many guests and is very fond of our prayer life.  On that day, 2 lambs were born from a ewe that could not wait for our planned breeding time.  Br. John was preparing to visit his 90 year old mother, Anna Thompson.  Just before he left, we were informed of her sudden death.  On March 24, Br. Anthony from a dependent house of Christ in the Desert in Mexico, arrived after spending the night in the Detroit airport.  He should not be so homesick in the company of Br. Antonio who arrived last month.  A few observers came to spend some days to discern their vocation.   The Friends of Mount Saviour have scheduled a Lenten Program and on March 27th, Sr. Camille D'Arienzo gave a talk on forgiveness.
