News:
Br. Pierre was featured in the August issue of the diocesan
paper,
Catholic
Courier, after he gave a presentation in Rochester on Gregorian
Chant at St. Salome Church, Irondequoit. It was an occasion
to reminisce the music that inspired many of the participants when they
were younger. A 3 minute
video
of excerpts of the presentation was made by a journalist of the
Catholic Courier. On August 6th, we celebrated our patronal
feast,
the Transfiguration, with solemnity. We long for the
transformation that the disciples witnessed in the company of
Christ. On the 15th, Our Dedication Day, the celebration was well
attended and
Clare Smock and
friends gave a nice recital with many pieces for 2 pianos and
violin. The sheep operation is active since it is the time for
weaning and the separation of the male and female lambs. At the
end of the month, we inspected all the ewes from head to toe to make
sure that the are healthy and can cope with the winter
conditions. The garden is yielding good vegetables and
Br. John is getting ready to harvest
the apples.
Coming events:
Emmaus Experience IX: From
Friday, Oct. 8th through Monday, Oct. 11th. focusing on Biblical texts
that point to radically transformative meanings of discipleship,
